Punjabi Chole (Channa) Masala | EASY RECIPE!!!

A little spicy, a little tangy, extremely flavorful and oh-so-damn satisfying! On this episode, Chef Sam brings us his version of Punjabi chole masala.

Ingredients: 

  • 16oz Cooked Chickpea 
  • 1 tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Punjabi Chole Masala
  • 2 tbsp Punjabi Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp Asafetida
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 5 tbsp Curry Base
  • 2 tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 3 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • Water
  • Cilantro

Steps (stir between each step): 

  1. Add oil to preheated pan
  2. Add cumin seeds
  3. Chop and add green chili
  4. Add asafetida
  5. Add Sam's curry base
  6. Add garam masala, chole masala
  7. Add water
  8. Add tomato puree
  9. Add more water
  10. Add salt (to taste)
  11. Add cooked chickpeas

And... That is how you make the famous Punjabi chole masala! Garnish with cilantro, red onion, and lemon. Serve with rice, poori, batura or naan.
