South Indian Fish Fry

Beautifully marinated King fish pan-fried to perfection! On this episode, Chef Sam brings us another one of his favorite South Indian foods.

Ingredients:

  • 3 King Fish Fillets
  • 1 tbsp Chili Powder
  • ½ tbsp Black Pepper Powder
  • ½ tbsp Corn Flour
  • ½ tbsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tbsp Chaat Masala
  • Salt (to taste)
  • ½ tbsp Minced Ginger
  • ½ Egg
  • 10 Curry Leaves
  • ½ Lemon
  • Cooking Oil

Steps:

  • Marinate salt, lemon juice, and fish for 5 minutes
  • Mix together red chili powder, black pepper powder, corn flour, garam masala, chaat masala, minced ginger, egg, & curry leaves
  • Rub spice mix onto fish fillets
  • Allows the fillets to sit in the marinade for 10-15 minutes
  • Put fillets into preheated pan with cooking oil
  • Fry each side for about 5 minutes on each side (you'll notice a nice brown crust around the fish)

And... There you have it folks! A fantastic protein rich meal cooked in minutes. Serve with leafy greens or with your favorite rice.
